VK Singh presents Governor’s Unit Citation to 20th Bn of AR
REGIONAL: Mizoram Governor General (Retd) Vijay Kumar Singh presented the prestigious Governor’s Unit Citation to the 20th Battalion Assam Rifles Monday in recognition of its distinguished service, valour and unwavering commitment to the nation and the people.
During the Investiture Ceremony held at the Durbar Hall, Lok Bhavan, the Governor praised the 20th Battalion Assam Rifles for their exemplary performance and outstanding contributions during their deployment in Mizoram. He highlighted that the Battalion's proactive efforts in guarding the Indo-Myanmar border were particularly commendable, especially during a time of complex security challenges and instability along the border.
General Singh also commended the unit for their effective coordination with other enforcement agencies and intelligence units that significantly helped curb the smuggling of narcotics and other illegal cross-border activities.
