Unity essential to attain development in Tripura: CM
AGARTALA: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha underscored the importance of unity among different religions in the journey to attain development in the state. e proclaimed that "Unity in diversity" serves as a fundamental principle for progress in the state and the nation aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiatives aimed at improving the socio-economic conditions of religious minorities through various fields such as education, health and women's empowerment.
Chief Minister made the remarks during his speech at the loan distribution for minorities programme here Wednesday.
Dr Saha expressed the state's commitment to earning the trust of all religious minority communities by ensuring good governance and transparency. He noted that while many neighboring countries lack socio-economic security for women, India has established systems aimed at safeguarding and empowering minority women focusing on "an educated daughter means a strong family."
He underscored the need for respect and dignity across all religions, indicating that such unity fosters a peaceful environment that enhances self-confidence and economic self-reliance. The Chief Minister highlighted that assistance or loans could significantly alter individual futures and encourage societal confidence.
To boost socio-economic development in minority communities, the state has proposed projects worth Rs 322 crore to the central government. Dr Saha distributed loan cheques worth Rs 64.93 lakh to 28 beneficiaries aimed at furthering their higher education and business endeavors.
The event was attended by Minority Welfare Minister Shuklacharan Noatia and leaders from various minority linked corporations and forums.
