UIDAI ties with NFSU to enhance cybersecurity
NATIONAL: The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was officially exchanged Tuesday between Vivek Chandra Verma, the Chief Executive Officer of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) and Prof (Dr) S Junare, the Director of the Gujarat Campus at the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU). This significant event was attended by Abhishek Kumar Singh, the Deputy Director General of UIDAI, along with several senior officials representing both organisations.
The collaboration outlined in the MoU is set to concentrate on six strategic pillars aimed at enhancing various aspects of digital security and forensic science. These pillars include -
1. Academic and Professional Development: Fostering education and skills relevant to the fields of digital identity and forensic sciences.
2. Information Security and System Integrity: Ensuring that systems are secure and robust against threats.
3. Forensic Infrastructure and Lab Excellence: Developing advanced facilities and capabilities for forensic analysis and research.
4. Technical Support for Cyber Security Activities: Providing assistance and resources to bolster cyber defense measures.
5. Technical Advisory and Research: Conducting joint research in emerging and critical domains, particularly in areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain technology, deepfake detection, and cryptographic technologies.
6. Strategic Placement and Outreach: Creating pathways for career opportunities and outreach initiatives for students at NFSU.
Vivek Chandra Verma asserted that this collaboration represents a pivotal advancement toward enhancing the security, resilience, and forensic capabilities that underpin India’s digital public infrastructure. It aims to implement stronger safeguards for the country’s digital identity systems ensuring a more secure future for the technological landscape in India.
