TWC to conduct series of awareness programmes in two districts
AGARTALA: The Tripura Commission for Women (TCW) is set to conduct a series of awareness programmes in the Gomati and South Tripura districts from August 21 to 31. This initiative aims to inform the public about various women's issues, focusing on vital topics including women's health, human trafficking, cyber safety, domestic violence, the PCPNDT Act, child marriage and witchcraft-related concerns.
A special emphasis will be placed on educating women and adolescent girls about their rights, ensuring their safety and enhancing public consciousness to tackle these social challenges.
The awareness programs will take place in different blocks on specific dates: August 21 in Santirbazar, Kakraban, Rajnagar and Rrishyamukh of South Tripura; August 25 in Karbook, Trisna-Chatri, Amarpur and Ompi; August 27 in Tepania, Kakraban, Killa and Matabari; and August 31 in Jolaibari, Satchand, Poangbari and Rupaichari.
The Commission said it is committed to empowering women and addressing pressing social issues in the region.
