AGARTALA / NEW DELHI: 18 Letters of Intent (LoIs) were exchanged during the Buyer-Seller Meet at the Tripura Queen Pineapple Global Festival 2026, currently being held in New Delhi. Tripura Agriculture and Farmer's Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath Sunday attributed this as a major development for Tripura's pineapple industry.

These LoIs have a combined business value of approximately Rs 11 crore, he stated.

The second day of the festival saw enthusiastic participation from policymakers, industry leaders, buyers, exporters and entrepreneurs, further highlighting the market potential of Tripura's renowned Queen Pineapple. The day began with a live broadcast of the Prime Minister's Mann Ki Baat attended by Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, Agriculture & Farmers' Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath and Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharjee along with senior officials and festival participants.

The highlight of the day was the Buyer-Seller Meet inaugurated by Union Minister for Agriculture & Farmers' Welfare Shivraj Singh Chouhan. The event was also attended by Agriculture Minister Ratan Lal Nath, Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharjee and Sunita Rai, Deputy General Manager of APEDA.

During the event, the dignitaries highlighted the immense potential of Tripura Queen Pineapple in both domestic and international markets. They also stressed the importance of strengthening value chains, market linkages, processing, branding, and exports to increase farmers' income.

Minister Nath informed that the Buyer-Seller Meet brought together 40 buyers from different parts of the country, providing a valuable platform for direct interaction between buyers, producers, exporters, Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), and entrepreneurs. The event received an overwhelming response, resulting in the exchange of 18 Letters of Intent (LoIs) with a cumulative business value of approximately Rs 11 crore.

This is a significant milestone in promoting the commercial prospects of Tripura Queen Pineapple. Minister Nath believes that the successful outcome of the Buyer-Seller Meet reflects the industry's growing confidence in the quality and marketability of Tripura's Queen Pineapple. He expects this to create new marketing opportunities, improve farmers' income, and boost the state's agri-export ecosystem.

Minister Nath opined that the Tripura Queen Pineapple Global Festival 2026 serves as a vibrant platform for showcasing the state's premium horticultural produce while forging partnerships among farmers, entrepreneurs, processors, exporters and institutional buyers from across the country.
