Tripura CM felicitates CWG gold medalist Asmita Dey
NEW DELHI: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha met with Judoka Asmita Dey Wednesday to felicitate her for winning India’s first-ever Gold Medal in Judo at the Commonwealth Games. During their meeting at Tripura Bhawan in New Delhi, Dr Saha praised her remarkable achievement highlighting her determination, discipline, perseverance and dedication.
He opined that her success has brought immense pride to both Tripura and India calling it a significant milestone for Indian sports.
The Chief Minister remarked that Asmita's journey serves as an inspiring example for young athletes nationwide. He reaffirmed the State Government's commitment to nurturing talent by strengthening the sporting ecosystem and encouraging youth to excel at various competitive levels.
Dr Saha extended his best wishes for Asmita's future endeavours. He expressed confidence that she would continue to achieve great success, and bring further laurels to both Tripura and the country.
Chief Minister assured her that the State Government would provide necessary support and encouragement to facilitate her pursuit of greater achievements on the global stage.
