Trainee pilot, Instructor killed in plane crash near Kanpur
NATIONAL: A Tecnam P2006T twin-engine aircraft, registered as VT-NBV and operated by Garg Aviation Ltd, Kanpur, was involved in an accident Thursday afternoon roughly 5 nautical miles from Kanpur Civil Airport near the Ganga Barrage. The aircraft was on a training flight within the Local Flying Area of the airport carrying a trainee pilot and an instructor.
Both of them tragically suffered fatal injuries and passed away in the accident.
A team of three officials from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is en route to the site to oversee regulatory matters and ensure proper coordination. The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) has been notified and will conduct an investigation into the circumstances and causes of the accident following relevant regulations and protocols.
