State government is committed to enhancing medical services: CM
AGARTALA: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha articulated the state government's commitment to enhancing medical services for all citizens by ensuring the recruitment of doctors and health workers along with expanding health infrastructure. He felt need of improving health service quality and doctor shortages are integral to making the state self-sufficient in the medical field.
He delivered appointment letters to General Duty Medical Officers (GDMOs) and inaugurated training for dentists and Community Health Officers (CHOs) at ab event held Tuesday. He proclaimed that transforming health services is a responsibility rather than merely a promise.
Dr Saha highlighted the ethos of the government, stating, "This government believes in deeds, not words," and marked the recruitment and training initiatives as a tangible example of their efforts. He reported that the recruitment process is transparent and merit-based aimed at providing opportunities for the youth while filling vacancies in the Health Department with urgency.
He also addressed the newly recruited doctors underscoring that the medical profession entails significant responsibility towards patients' lives and health. He encouraged them to approach their duties with compassion and a familial mindset towards patients.
He urged doctors to stay informed about modern medical technologies including artificial intelligence and innovative medical practices.
Looking to the future, Dr Saha disclosed plans for the initiation of heart and liver transplant services, signaling a progressive step in the state's healthcare offerings. The event was attended Health Department Secretary Kiran Gitte and various department directors.
