
REGIONAL: A special edition of the “Sundays on Cycle” initiative took place at the State Central Library in Shillong Sunday organised under the Fit India Movement in collaboration with Khelo India and the Sports Authority of India (SAI). The event aimed to promote fitness, healthy living and community participation, and was honored by the presence of Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, the Union Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports alongside other dignitaries including Raksha Nikhil Khadse, the Minister of State for Youth Affairs & Sports, and Wailadmiki Shylla, the Sports and Youth Affairs Minister of Meghalaya as well as hundreds of cycling enthusiasts.
The initiative emphasised the principles of the Fit India Movement inspiring attendees to adopt active lifestyles and integrate physical fitness into their daily routines. It showcased a collective dedication to fostering a healthier, stronger and fitter India.
The wide-ranging participation from various age groups and demographics illustrated the increasing popularity of the “Sundays on Cycle” initiative highlighting its effectiveness in raising awareness regarding fitness, health and active living nationwide. The successful execution of this event in Shillong further solidified the government's commitment to promoting sports, wellness and community engagement through widespread fitness campaigns across the country.
