AGARTALA: Tripura is set to launch a month-long 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan' (Service Pledge Campaign) beginning September 17 to celebrate 25 years of public service by Narendra Modi, initially as Chief Minister of Gujarat and later as Prime Minister of India. Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha announced this initiative at a press conference in his office here Monday.
The guiding motto of the campaign 'Jan Seva Hi Prabhu Seva' (Service to the people is service to the Divine) aims to ensure that the benefits of various government schemes reach the most vulnerable segments of society.
"This period marks a significant milestone in India's democratic history with Modi’s commitment to public service starting on October 7, 2001. The fundamental philosophy underlying his administration encompasses service, good governance and welfare for the poor, central to delivering the fruits of government schemes to everyone in society," the Chief Minister stated.
From September 17 to October 17, the campaign will roll out various programmes including 'Ashirwad Ka Diya' (Lamp of Blessings), an art initiative 'Mere Sapno Ka Bharat' (India of My Dreams), 'NaMo Seva Ankahi Kahaniyan' (Untold Stories of NaMo's Service), 'Angan Milan Seva', among others. The 'Seva First Innovation Challenge', 'Sushasan Samvad' (Good Governance Dialogue) and 'Vadnagar-Varanasi Seva Yatra' will also be part of the initiatives.
