
AGARTALA: There has been a consistent increase in the number of domestic and foreign tourists visiting the Tripura. State's Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury presented a data that reflects a 3.15 percent rise in tourist arrivals during the 2025-26 compared to the previous fiscal year.
Specifically, in the fiscal year 2023-24, the state welcomed a total of 5,45,299 tourists with 4,69,328 being domestic tourists and 75,971 foreign tourists. The following fiscal year, 2024-25, saw a total of 7,07,173 tourists, which included 6,27,705 domestic tourists and 79,468 foreign tourists.
Minister said the trend continued into the 2025-26 fiscal year, where a total of 7,29,414 tourists were recorded, comprising 7,10,243 domestic and 19,171 foreign tourists. He opined that the data highlights the growing appeal of the state as a tourist destination underscoring its significance in promoting tourism for economic development.
