Nongsder SSA LP School celebrated its Golden Jubilee
REGIONAL: Nongsder SSA LP School celebrated its Golden Jubilee, marking 50 years of educational service with a lively programme attended by Minister of Education, Lahkmen Rymbui, local MDC Shemborlang Rynjah, the SDSEO and the SDO of Pynursla Civil Sub-Division alongside teachers, parents, students and guests.
The event commenced with a historical narrative from the Headman of Nongsder village, recounting the school’s establishment in 1976 by a Member of the District Council. Initially supported by the District Council, it opened with just 30 students and one teacher, expanding to its current 77 students and two teachers under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan framework.
In his address, Minister Rymbui honored the founders and early contributors, and highlighted the significance of having the first teacher present at the milestone. He motivated students to work diligently and adopt a positive mindset from an early age, emphasizing that success extends beyond government jobs and the critical nature of skill development. He referenced the government’s Community Skills Integrated Learning initiative aimed at empowering youth from rural backgrounds, encouraging them to utilize such programs.
Other speakers reiterated the vital role of education and community involvement, while the school’s inaugural teacher shared her poignant experiences during the event. The celebrations were further enlivened by colorful cultural performances from students, rendering the Golden Jubilee a remarkable occasion for the entire community.
