NATIONAL: The Lok Sabha will have the introduction of the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill 2026 aimed at revising the existing Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act of 2024.
This Bill, set to be presented Monday by Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh, reflects the government's commitment to addressing issues surrounding academic integrity. Recently, the Union Cabinet approved a draft Bill focused on creating fast-track courts designed to expedite legal proceedings and enforce stricter penalties for offenses such as exam malpractices and paper leaks.
The introduction of this amendment is a strategic move to enhance the effectiveness of measures against unfair practices in examinations.
