NEET-UG: High-level review meeting held Thursday
NATIONAL: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan Thursday chaired a high-level review meeting to evaluate preparations for the upcoming NEET-UG re-examination set for Sunday. The minister stressed the importance of maintaining the highest standards of integrity, transparency and efficiency in the examination process.
He instructed relevant authorities to remain vigilant and ensure all necessary arrangements for the re-examination's fair conduct. The Ministry has designated officers to be deployed across various states to coordinate examination-related activities and report to a central command center led by the Director General of the National Testing Agency (NTA).
The meeting also addressed the need for States and Union Territories to provide candidates with essential facilities to enable a stress-free examination experience including adequate seating and access to drinking water. Officials reviewed security measures, logistical arrangements, grievance redressal mechanisms and the coordination between stakeholders to facilitate a seamless examination process.
NTA Director General Abhishek Singh who attended the meeitng said that the agency is collaborating closely with district administrations, state police departments and intelligence agencies to ensure the smooth execution of the examination. The meeting was attended by over 220 participants including senior officials from the Ministry of Education, state governments, the NTA and higher educational institutions, who assured full cooperation for the transparent conduct of the re-examination.
