“Move, Inspire, Together”: Olympic Forest initiative
REGIONAL: The Nagaland Olympic Association organised the tree plantation drive as part of the Olympic Day 2026 celebration Tuesday along with the Nagaland Football Association (NFA) and its Affiliated Associations. A total of 2,036 trees were planted across the state symbolising a collective commitment towards environmental sustainability and a greener future under the theme of “Move, Inspire, Together”.
In line with the initiative of the Indian Olympic Association and in support of the International Olympic Committee’s Olympic Forest initiative, the event witnessed the active participation of various sports associations, whose involvement greatly contributed to the success of the plantation drive.
The tree plantation reflects the Nagaland Olympic Association’s continued dedication to promoting not only sporting excellence but also environmental consciousness within communities. Through this initiative, the Association hopes to inspire citizens, especially the youth, to contribute towards preserving nature while upholding the spirit of the Olympic Movement.
