Last rites of departed Tripura DGP Anurag Dhankar performed
AGARTALA: The last rites of the departed Tripura DGP Anurag Dhankar were performed in Baghpat district of Uttar Pradesh Wednesday. His funeral was held at the crematorium at Baraut, the home of his cousin Upendra Dhankar.
Dhankar was born at his native home at Biharipur in Baghpat district, but the family later moved to Baraut. The mortal remains of the DGP, who was found dead at his office in the police headquarters in Agartala, reached Baraut Wednesday.
A minister, senior police officers of Uttar Pradesh and numerous people paid respect to the high-profile official. A smart contingent of Uttar Pradesh police was presented in honour of the late DGP.
Meanwhile, the elder brother of Anurag Dhankar, Upendra Dhankar, demanded an independent and extensive probe into the death of his brother. He told local media that his brother did not have any syndrome and frustration about taking his life by committing suicide.
