Korea Masters: Tanvi, Ashmita and Rakshitha in quarterfinals
WORLD: India’s women's badminton players Tanvi Sharma, Ashmita Chaliha and Rakshitha Ramraj have advanced to the quarterfinals of the singles event in the Korea Masters tournament being held in Asan.
Tanvi Sharma showcased her skill and resilience by overcoming fellow Indian competitor Shriyanshi Valishetty in a closely contested match with scores of 21-16, 17-21, 21-13. Ashmita Chaliha delivered an impressive performance by defeating local player Kim Min-ji with a commanding score of 21-17, 21-6.
Meanwhile, Rakshitha Ramraj also made her mark by besting Japan’s Manami Suizu with a score of 22-20, 21-10. Unfortunately, the tournament concluded for other Indian players Anmol Kharb, Isharani Baruah and Mansi Singh, who were eliminated in the pre-quarterfinals.
In the men’s doubles event, the Indian pair of Prithvi Krishnamurthy Roy and Krishna Prasad Garaga triumphed over their South Korean opponents thus advancing to the quarterfinals as well. The upcoming quarterfinal matches for women’s singles and men’s doubles are highly anticipated with expectations riding on the Indian players as they aim for further success in the tournament.
