Indigenous talent on the national stage

INDEPENDENT music producer and artist Susam Baran Debbarma from Ambassa, Dhalai, Tripura, is bringing his independently created devotional music to audiences through major digital platforms.

Debbarma, from the Tripuri community, has independently composed and produced the devotional release “Om Namah Shivaya – 1 Hour Meditation.” The production is now available on Spotify, JioSaavn, Apple Music and YouTube without the support of a conventional music label.

The release reflects the growing opportunities for independent artists from smaller towns and indigenous communities to create, produce and distribute their work using digital platforms.

For Debbarma, the project is also about representation. As an artist from Tripura, he hopes his work can encourage other young creators from indigenous communities to pursue their creative ambitions and demonstrate that meaningful work can be created and shared from their own hometowns.

The project was independently composed and produced by Susam Baran Debbarma, who is continuing to develop his work as an independent music producer and digital creator.
