
NEW DELHI: Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh and Vietnamese Minister Dr Vu Hai Quan Thursday held bilateral talks in New Delhi to enhance cooperation in science and technology. The discussions focused on Artificial Intelligence, cybersecurity, semiconductors and biotechnology aiming to fortify institutional mechanisms between India and Vietnam.
Dr Singh highlighted their historical ties and noted that the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership has gained momentum post a recent visit by the Vietnamese Prime Minister. Vietnam plays a crucial role in India's Act East Policy with emphasis on collaborative research and innovation.
The talks included plans for stronger startup collaboration, given India's expanding startup ecosystem, and acknowledged Vietnam's involvement in India-ASEAN programmes. Both ministers agreed on the importance of structured cooperation and proposed dedicated coordination points for actionable initiatives.
The discussions also covered AI missions, cybersecurity frameworks and ongoing academic partnerships, with both sides expressing commitment to maintain regular engagements. These efforts aim to translate bilateral dialogue into tangible outcomes that benefit their citizens through technological and economic growth.
