Fighting corruption is a collective duty: Lalduhoma
AIZAWL: Chief Minister Lalduhoma Thursday released the Annual Report of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Mizoram for the fiscal year 2025–2026 at his office at Aizawl. He expressed satisfaction with the publication, which serves as a vital reminder for government employees to uphold integrity, accountability, transparency and financial propriety in public administration.
Underscoring the detrimental impact of corruption on governance and development, he stressed that fighting corruption is a collective duty involving all citizens and government employees not just a single agency.
Chief Minister said that the Government has enhanced the capabilities of both the ACB and the Mizoram Lokayukta, encouraging their staff to further improve their professional skills to boost anti corruption efforts. During the 2025–2026 period, the ACB received 17 corruption-related complaints of which 15 proceeded to Preliminary Enquiry resulting in 6 Regular Cases.
The Bureau completed 14 Preliminary Enquiries and resolved 7 Regular Cases, including those from previous years.
Over a span of 16 years from 2010 to 2026, the ACB secured convictions for 112 accused persons across 35 corruption cases, which were charge-sheeted and tried by the Special Court under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
J Lalthafamkima, Director of ACB, who chaired the programme, while Dr YLN Reddy, Secretary of the Vigilance Department, delivered the keynote address and Lalbiakkila, Superintendent of Police, ACB, proposed the vote of thanks.
