Election Commision amends schedule for the SIR in Tripura
AGARTALA: The Election Commission of India (ECI) Wednesday amended the schedule for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls for the Assembly constituencies in Tripura with January 1, 2027 as the qualifying date. The commission has not clarified reasons for cancellation of the upcoming SIR and deferment.
The office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) has made public the rescheduled chart.
- Preparation, training and printing of materials will take place from October 27, 2026, to November 5, 2026.
- House-to-house visits by Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are scheduled from November 6, 2026, to December 5, 2026.
- The rationalisation and reorganization of polling stations is to be completed by December 5, 2026.
- The draft electoral roll will be published on December 12, 2026.
- The period for filing claims and objections will run from December 12, 2026, to January 10, 2027.
- The notice period for disposal of claims and objections is set from December 12, 2026, to February 9, 2027.
- Finally, the publication of the final electoral roll is slated for February 15, 2027.
