Destination Tripura Business Conclave-2026

By IH News Desk Jul 05, 2026

AGARTALA: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha opined a significant investment opportunity at the upcoming Destination Tripura Business Conclave-2026, which is set to take place over two days beginning July 9 at the Hapania International Fair premises in Agartala. The event will feature Union DoNER Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and is expected to garner investments of approximately Rs 1 lakh crore.

This conclave represents a first for the state marking a remarkable moment for business development.

During a preparatory inspection and meeting chaired by Dr Saha at the fair ground Sunday, he stressed the need for both domestic and foreign investments to improve employment opportunities and elevate the state's per capita income and Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP). He asserted that the conclusion of the conclave is crucial for creating a collaborative environment among various sectors especially health, education, information technology, transport and tourism.

Reflecting on earlier successes, Dr Saha mentioned that MoUs worth Rs 30,000 crore were signed during last year's conclave with investments of Rs 8,000 crore already in progress. This historical context highlights the expanding economic landscape in Tripura under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who inspires a mindset focused on national welfare among public representatives and governmental employees, Chief Minister stated at the meeting.

The business conclave will have 20 exhibition stalls sponsored by various departments and central PSUs. It is anticipated to attract around 500 representatives from both national and international spheres including confirmed attendance from countries such as Bangladesh, the Philippines, Kazakhstan, Maldives, Nepal, Uzbekistan, Russia and Indonesia.

Key discussion areas will encompass sectors vital to Tripura's growth, including health, tourism, education, logistics, information technology, renewable energy and agriculture particularly around tea, rubber and agar-based industries.

Chief Minister said to have the impression that the outcomes of the upcoming conclave will bear lasting impacts on the state’s development trajectory.
