Deplorable condition of the highways in Tripura
AGARTALA: Tripura Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu drew the attention of the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari over the need to repair the national highways in Tripura. He has written to the minister seeking the latter's intervention.
The governor stressed the need for a delegation of senior officials from the National Highways Authority to visit Tripura for an onsite inspection of the highways, particularly National Highway 8 which serves as a critical link between Assam and Agartala.
The Governor highlighted the importance of not only inspecting the current state of these roads but also expediting ongoing construction works while ensuring adherence to necessary quality standards.
In a readout, the Lok Bhavan in Agartala underlined the state government's commitment to improving its infrastructure for better connectivity.
