Condemnations over killing of AR Havildar in Nagaland
KOHIMA: Governor Nand Kishore Yadav expressed deep sorrow over the tragic death of Assam Rifles Havildar Mohammad Iqbal, who lost his life due to an improvised explosive device (IED) that targeted a convoy in Khopanala, Chümoukedima district, Nagaland, Monday.
The explosion occurred while the convoy was en route to Dimapur, resulting in several injuries among the personnel, all of whom have been taken to the Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research in Dimapur for treatment.
The Governor extended his heartfelt condolences to the family and colleagues of the deceased and prayed for his soul's eternal peace while also wishing the injured a swift recovery.
Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio also denounced the attack as cowardly asserting that the assailants would be identified and held accountable affirming a commitment to preventing such incidents from disrupting societal peace and security.
No civilian casualties were reported in this attack attributed to suspected extremists.
