
REGIONAL: Nagaland Chief Minister Dr Neiphiu Rio has issued a strong condemnation regarding the violent killings of a group of church leaders in Manipur. He described the incident as barbaric and senseless, asserting that such violence against innocent people is wholly unacceptable and has no place in a civilized society.
Dr Rio expressed his profound sorrow over the event, extending heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, the church community and the people of Manipur as they navigate this period of mourning. He also offered prayers for strength and comfort to all those impacted by this tragic occurrence.
Earlier reports confirmed that three church leaders were killed and several others were injured after an attack on their vehicles while traveling between Churachandpur and Kangpokpi in Manipur Wednesday. NSCN (I-M) militants was blamed for committing the ambush.
