AGARTALA: Dr Manik Saha underlined the critical role of concentration and steadfastness in achieving success during his speech while inaugurating various development programmes at PM-Shri AD Nagar English Medium School Friday. He stressed that gaining knowledge across various subjects is essential to thrive in today’s competitive environment.
The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone for infrastructure development at several schools including Netaji Subhash Vidyaniketan, Bordowali XII Class School, Hapania XII Class School and Charipara XII Class School. He launched a pilot project for interactive virtual classrooms designed for 240 remote schools aimed at enhancing educational access and digitalising land maps within the Agartala Municipal Corporation furthering the School Education Department's initiatives.
Dr Saha shared anecdotes from his own student life to connect with the students. He highlighted state government's commitment to improving the quality of education, health and infrastructure viewing students as the future of the society.
He noted the government's endeavor to ensure adequate facilities and security for students, instructing relevant departments to gather up-to-date information regarding school amenities like boundary walls, water facilities, benches, mid-day meals and toilets.
The Chief Minister expressed a vision for developing Bordowali Higher Secondary School into a model institution. He also mentioned the introduction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's exam practice initiative, aimed at alleviating exam-related stress among students and fostering a strong mindset and confidence essential for future success.
He advised students to focus on classroom teachings and personal effort, suggesting that a lack of need for private tuition could stem from this commitment. Addressing parents, he encouraged them to prioritize nurturing good character in their children over merely striving for high academic marks.
With respect to the virtual classroom initiative, Dr Saha stated that it enables students from remote areas to engage in live lessons in subjects like Maths, Science and English from teachers located in urban settings, facilitating a two-way interactive experience where students may pose questions. This programme is expected to benefit around 40,000 students, ensuring continuity in their education.
He discussed the mapping initiative, indicating its significance in simplifying land measurement through modern techniques as part of a pilot project designed in alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision currently being implemented in the Agartala Municipal Corporation area.
