CM reviews implementation of 158 investment project proposals

By IH News Desk Sep 16, 2026

AGARTALA: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha Wednesday announced that more than 158 investment project proposals have been received and that officials of the line departments are actively working on them. He instructed Secretaries and Directors to create a 100-day plan to implement all viable projects and stated that the Chief Secretary JK Sinha will conduct monthly reviews to ensure progress on investment and job opportunities in the state.

The Chief Minister gave the instructions at a meeting to review the implementation and progress of grounding projects for which Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed during the Destination Tripura Business Conclave 2026.

Dr Saha asserted the need to quickly turn the investment potential in Tripura into jobs and economic growth. He stated that each investment proposal should have a clear timeline and specific targets for implementation.

While assessing the progress of projects linked to the MoUs signed at the Conclave, he expressed that increasing investment aims to boost the state's Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) and create employment opportunities.

Secretary Kiran Gitte discussed the progress of MoUs and the potential for investments in various sectors. Senior officials updated Dr Saha on the status of MoUs and investment proposals in their departments.

Dr Saha stressed the importance of sectors like tourism, healthcare, education and renewable energy, and directed rapid resolution of land, power and infrastructure issues. He urged improved communication and coordination among departments to facilitate investor engagement.

He advised for timely completion of projects and for departments to assist in addressing investor concerns effectively.
