CM praises taxpayers for fulfilling legal obligations
AGARTALA: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha underscored the significance of timely taxpaying at the inauguration of the golden jubilee celebrations of the Tripura State Taxes Organisation in Agartala Wednesday.
He praised taxpayers for not only fulfilling their legal responsibilities but also contributing to the state's economic progress and infrastructure development. Dr Saha announced the state government's commitment to establishing a technology-driven, transparent and accountable tax system.
During the event, Chief Minister launched several digital platforms including the Tripura Integrated Network for Enforcement Tracking and Risk Analytics (TRINETRA), TRUESIP APP and Excise Connect. He described this occasion as historic, highlighting the Tax Department's journey in revenue collection and its role in public welfare initiatives such as education, health and infrastructure construction over the past five decades.
Dr Saha expressed optimism that the introduction of these digital tools would simplify tax payment processes and enhance transparency. He commended regular taxpayers for their essential support in driving the state's economic development and reiterated the goal of making the tax system more efficient and user-friendly.
The event was attended by Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Dr Prashant Kumar Goel, the Secretary of the Finance Department and Kundan Yadav, the Commissioner of Agartala Central Goods and Services Tax Commissionerate.
