AGARTALA: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha expressed his enthusiasm for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Mann Ki Baat programme highlighting its warm reception among the public. The Prime Minister acknowledged the efforts of Suraj Kumar Debbarma in preserving Tripura's traditional musical instrument - the Chongpreng.

Dr Saha who listened 136th episode of Modi's weekly radio programme, which was hosted at Booth No 51 of 13 Pratapgarh Mandal in Agartala Sunday, spoke out his mind on the episode's focus on inspiring initiatives across India, achievements in sports and the Olympics and the contributions of everyday individuals to traditional crafts. He stressed  the pride of Tripura's residents that their state was featured, marking it as an honor not only for Debbarma but for all communities in Tripura.

He stressed that the program transcends political affiliations, appealing to a broader audience and commented on its initial criticism from opposition leaders, which has since dissipated in the face of public enthusiasm.

The Chief Minister asserted the Prime Minister's faith in the youth as pivotal to the country’s future, contrasting this with opposition attempts to sow discord among students. He also mentioned initiatives aimed at reducing single-use plastic and underscored the government’s commitment to tackling environmental and health issues related to plastic waste.
