
REGIONAL: Lokapriya Gopinath Bardoloi International (LGBI) Airport celebrated World Environment Day with a comprehensive series of initiatives focused on environmental awareness and sustainability. The observance began on Friday morning at the GIAL Administrative Office with an oath-taking ceremony.
Employees of Guwahati International Airport Limited and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel participated in a cleanliness drive that extended from the office premises to the New Airport SOS Road.
During this event, 150 saplings were planted along the SOS Road. Besides a sapling distribution drive at the terminal encouraged passengers to engage in eco-friendly practices.
To further promote environmental conservation, a Nukkad Natak was performed by the Creative Galaxy team at the airport terminal, capturing the attention of a large number of travelers.
The airport management also highlighted the successful growth of saplings planted in earlier drives, demonstrating a continued commitment to long-term environmental stewardship. Through these activities, the LGBI Airport reaffirmed its dedication for a cleaner, greener and more sustainable future.
