NATIONAL: Neeraj Chopra has qualified for the men's javelin finals at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, alongside fellow competitors Rohit Yadav and Yashvir Singh, who also made it to the finals. In the qualification round, Chopra finished fifth, with Yadav in ninth place and Singh in tenth.

In a noteworthy achievement for India, the country celebrated a historic one-two finish in para athletics during the men’s 100m T47 final, where Dilip Mahadu Gavit clinched gold with a Games record and season-best time of 10.71 seconds, while Mohammed Basil Morssinganakath secured silver with his own season-best of 10.83 seconds.

Kevin Santos from England claimed bronze, finishing just behind with a time of 10.85 seconds in a competitive race. This gold medal marked India's third at the Glasgow Games, following victories by Mirabai Chanu in the women's 48kg weightlifting event and Sharmila Dhankar in the women's shot put F57 para athletics category.

As a result, India currently ranks eighth in the Commonwealth Games medal standings, boasting a total of 15 medals, comprising three gold, nine silver and three bronze.
