Cabinet resolution lauds CM Khandu on his 10-year tenure
ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Cabinet passed a resolution congratulating Chief Minister Pema Khandu on his 10-year tenure reiterating its commitment to peace, prosperity and development in the state. The cabinet recognised the past decade as a period of hope governed by the principles of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas' and a focus on 'reform, perform and transform.'
Key initiatives during this period included support for youth, women, farmers, students and senior citizens, alongside development in education, sports, skill programs, agriculture, horticulture and tourism, the resolution focused.
It identified significant progress in infrastructure and connectivity was acknowledged, marking Arunachal Pradesh's shift from "strategic neglect" to an integral part of India's growth narrative. The cabinet pledged to ensure development aligns with preserving the state's indigenous identity and cultural heritage.
Financial resolutions included allocations of Rs 7,834 crore for roads, power, and education, a 20% reservation in uniformed services for former Agniveers, and approvals for major road development projects. Rs 2,334 crore was allocated for the second phase of the Chief Minister Comprehensive State Road Development Plan, while another Rs 2,000 crore was designated for rural road connectivity.
Rs 2,000 crore was sanctioned for modernizing power infrastructure.
Advancements also included Rs 1,500 crore approved for the second phase of Mission Shikshit Arunachal aimed at improving school infrastructure and educational outcomes, with past investments totaling Rs 3,112.50 crore under the first phase. The cabinet's initiatives underscore a holistic approach to enhancing both the physical and educational landscape in Arunachal Pradesh.
