Biplab Kumar Deb meets Union Health Minister JP Nadda
NEW DELHI: Former Tripura Chief Minister and MP Biplab Kumar Deb met with Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare JP Nadda Saturday in New Delhi to discuss the medical treatment of Monoshree, a critically ill girl from Tripura. During their meeting, Deb informed Nadda about Monoshree’s health status, treatment progress and observations from specialist doctors at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).
They explored potential assistance from the Union Health Ministry to ensure her continued advanced treatment.
Following the meeting, Deb said his meeting with the Union Minister focused on ways the Ministry could provide support, including the logistics of future treatment. Deb had committed to supporting Monoshree’s family after their request, which led to arrangements for her treatment at the AIIMS.
The former Chief Minister also held discussions with Dr Sheffali Gulati, a specialist, on the girl's health condition.
Monoshree’s father, via Biplab Kumar Deb, appealed to the Union Health Minister for assistance from the Central Government, specifically requesting the procurement of life-saving medications and consideration for humanitarian aid through a pharmaceutical company's 'Compassionate Access Programme'.
Deb felt the urgency of ensuring Monoshree's treatment proceeds without delay, insisting that all possible governmental support be secured, although any assistance will align with existing policies and procedures.
