
WORLD: A parliamentary delegation from India, led by Biplab Kumar Deb, former Chief Minister of Tripura and MP of Lok Sabha, is currently visiting Bhutan to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries. As part of the India-Bhutan Friendship Group, the delegation had the opportunity to meet with King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Bhutanese Prime Minister Dasho Tshering Tobgay.
During the meeting, Deb stressed the importance of continuous dialogue and exchanges to further solidify the relationship between the two nations. He expressed optimism that such interactions would lead to increased bilateral cooperation.
Biplab Kumar Deb also extended an invitation for a Bhutanese delegation to visit India, potentially including the Prime Minister and the King, during the next Indian Parliament session. He expressed his gratitude to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla for giving him the opportunity to chair the India-Bhutan Parliamentary Friendship Group.
This visit by Deb marks a significant milestone in the partnership between India and Bhutan as he is the first to undertake an official visit representing the group. It highlights India's commitment to maintaining and enhancing its multifaceted relations with Bhutan.
Deb also expressed his appreciation for the warm reception he received during his stay.
