Aradhya, the chess champion from Tripura, gets warm welcome
AGARTALA: Tripura celebrates Aradhya Das, an undefeated chess champion who has secured her title for the fourth time at the Under-13 National Chess Championship held in Puducherry. Competing as a student of Matrix Chess Academy, she showcased exceptional skill by accumulating 9.5 points over 11 rounds ultimately defeating her opponent from Kerala, Janaki SD, in the final round that lasted 89 moves.
This remarkable feat has not only made her a source of pride for her seventh-grade peers at Sri Krishna Mission School but also sparked a sense of achievement across the state. Officials of the All Tripura Chess Association and Aradhya's family warmly welcomed her at MBB Airport Saturday.
Aradhya Das expressed her happiness and encouraged wider participation in sports. The All Tripura Chess Association reiterated its commitment to support emerging players like Aradhya and her fellow competitor, Arshiya, pledging to stand by the state's sporting talents.
