
AGARTALA: Assam Rifles and the Indian Army engaged in a two-day Joint Flood Relief Training exercise in Tripura, designed to improve coordination and operational readiness for disaster response during flooding events in the region. The primary objective of the training was to facilitate the efficient execution of flood relief operations in the wake of natural disasters, enhancement of synergy, readiness and response capabilities between the two forces.
During the exercise, personnel from both Assam Rifles and the Indian Army participated in various disaster management drills and practiced standard operating procedures pertaining to rescue and relief operations. This collaborative training involved utilising common practices, equipment and operational methods ensuring a uniform approach to training and execution.
The joint nature of the exercise significantly improved interoperability between the forces, preparing them for coordinated relief operations when necessary.
The exercise highlighted the commitment of both security forces to provide timely assistance to civil authorities thereby enhancing the safety and well-being of the public during emergencies.
