Air Marshal Tejinder Singh assumes office of the CISC

NATIONAL: Air Marshal Tejinder Singh has assumed office as the Chief of Integrated Defence Staff to the Chairman Chiefs of Staff Committee (CISC) 2026. A distinguished alumnus of the National Defence Academy (NDA), Defence Service Staff College and National Defence College he was commissioned into the fighter stream of the Indian Air Force on June 13, 1987. 

With more than 4,500 flying hours, he holds the title of Category ‘A’ Qualified Flying Instructor. Throughout his career, he has commanded various significant positions, including a Fighter Squadron, a Radar Station, a premier Fighter Base and served as the Air Officer Commanding for Jammu & Kashmir.

Before his current role, Air Marshal Singh was the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C) of the South Western Air Command. His extensive staff experience encompasses operational roles at a Command Headquarters as well as senior positions such as Air Commodore (Personnel Officers - 1) at Air Headquarters, Deputy Assistant Chief of Integrated Defence Staff and various Assistant Chief of Air Staff roles focusing on Operations (Offensive and Strategy). 

He also served as the Senior Air Staff Officer of the Eastern Air Command, the Deputy Chief of the Air Staff and AOC-in-C of the Training Command.

In honour of his commendable service, Air Marshal Tejinder Singh has received several prestigious awards, including the Vayu Sena Medal in 2007, the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal in 2022 and the Param Vishisht Seva Medal in 2026.
