
NATIONAL: Short Range Ballistic Missile ‘Agni-1’ was successfully test-launched Friday from the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur in Odisha. This launch validated all operational and technical parameters and was executed under the Strategic Forces Command's oversight.
The successful test is a significant milestone in enhancing India’s strategic defence readiness, thus reinforcing the nation’s credibility regarding its minimum credible deterrence capability. Agni-1 is an indigenously developed surface-to-surface ballistic missile, a crucial component of India’s strategic missile programme.
It is designed for quick deployment, high mobility and is capable of carrying both conventional and strategic payloads, reflecting India's advancements in missile technology and defence strategy.
