41 young talents from northeast India get job in UNIQLO
REGIONAL: A collaboration between the Investment & Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) and global the UNIQLO has provided young people in Nagaland with retail employment opportunities at the renowned apparel brand. Over 450 students from various educational institutions participated in the UNIQLO Xperience Day as part of the UNIQLO talent engagement initiative.
This event featured interactive sessions and addresses from dignitaries including Yuichiro Kaneko, COO of UNIQLO India and Abu Metha, Advisor to the Chief Minister and Chairman of IDAN.
Participants explored the LifeWear product range and learned about the technology underpinning these offerings, while also gaining insights into UNIQLO's Japanese work culture, work-life balance and values. An engaging giveaway session of UNIQLO merchandise further enhanced the experience.
The enthusiasm generated at the Xperience Day led to a robust recruitment event with more than 130 candidates registering for the Hiring Day this month. Over 90 candidates were interviewed ultimately resulting in the selection of 41 of them to join UNIQLO’s retail team.
Officials said this partnership between IDAN and UNIQLO not only provided brand exposure but also opened pathways for career opportunities allowing the youth of Nagaland to gain firsthand experience of the company’s products and culture thus equipping them for successful careers with the brand.
