CM Lalduhoma releases book titled "A tur a na tawh lo ve"

MIZORAM Chief Minister Lalduhoma released a book titled *A tur a na tawh lo ve* (“The turn is no longer painful”), authored by Lalnunmawii, at the CM Conference Hall. 

The Chief Minister expressed his appreciation for Lalnunmawii’s effort in producing a valuable book based on her 26 years of experience working in the care and rehabilitation of substance abusers. He said that her deep dedication to continuing the fight against drugs is clearly reflected in the pages and he described her commitment as truly admirable. 

Echoing the proverb, “Those who have walked the path know the way,” he observed that she has a deep understanding of the struggles of addiction. He added that the book would be immensely beneficial for active substance users, their families, and frontline anti-drug workers alike. 

The Chief Minister stressed the need to spread the message that recovery from addiction is achievable. He also affirmed that the government stands ready to support those who are genuinely committed to recovery through various means. 

At the Hulhhliap Short Stay Centre, inmates receive not only addiction recovery support but also vocational and skills training to help them achieve long-term self-reliance. Twenty-one of them have already received financial assistance under the CM Special Package through the Handholding Scheme. 

He expressed confidence that strengthening aftercare services will help inmates break the cycle of relapse after leaving rehabilitation centres and achieve lasting recovery. The programme was chaired by CYMA President R Lalngheta.
