Wreckage of missing An-32 aircraft located

Guwahati, June 11, 2019: Wreckage of missing An-32 transport aircraft has been located on Tuesday at a remote location in Arunachal Pradesh. The transport aircraft went missing with 13 people on board, shortly after take-off from Jorhat in Assam eight days ago.
“The wreckage of the aircraft was spotted today, 16 km North of Lipo, North East of Tato at an approximate elevation of 12000 ft by the IAF Mi-17 Helicopter undertaking search in the expanded search zone,” the Indian Air Force tweeted.
The flight was heading for Mechuka Advanced Landing Ground, located in Mechuka Valley in Arunachal Pradesh.
Fighter jets and helicopters were pressed into service to locate the flight while army units on the ground in Arunachal Pradesh also engaged in search operation. ISRO supported search mission with satellite imageries.
