CPI(M) CC meeting to discuss fall in Tripura

AGARTALA, June 8, 2019: Three day meeting of the Central Committee of CPI(M) got underway in New Delhi on Friday. The meeting has been called to discuss party’s dismal performance in recently concluded Lok Sabha elections.
The party is holding the meeting to review rout mainly in three states – West Bengal and Tripura where it was in power and Kerala where it is in governance but ended miserably.
While CPI(M) and other left parties secured number two position in Kerala, it came down to number three in Tripura and in West Bengal it struggled for even number three.
Only five left candidates including two from CPI(M) won in Lok Sabha elections.
