AGARTALA, April 09, 2019: Biplab Kumar Deb, Chief Minister and state President of BJP, on Tuesday named CPI(M) as his party’s contender in Lok Sabha elections and ignored Congress. While attributing this he however predicted a huge victory for BJP candidates in both constituencies.
He also appealed people not to vote for CPI(M) as it would be a big mistake to add strength to a ‘fragile party’. “Don’t vote for communist, it would be dangers to make them strong anyway”, he asserted.
Getting a sort of ‘break’ on last day of campaigning in west Tripura constituency, Chief Minister interacted with newsmen at party headquarters here. Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Debbarman flanked him.
Biplab Kumar Deb termed the communists as ‘dangerous’ elements who knew only ‘violence’ and declared his resolve to root out left from the state. He stated CPI(M) cadres attacked BJP workers at places, but it has been trying to play a victim card.
Chief Minister was confident of BJP’s triumph in both west and east Tripura constituencies by huge margins. He said measures are at place to hold free and fair elections.
