Winner takes all – ASEB Lifts Lucky-Srivastava Trophy

AGARTALA, February 22, 2020: With a superb display of team spirit and agility to combine attack and defence, Assam State Electricity Board of Assam thrashes out College Veng Sports Club by 1-0 and thereby lifted the Champion’s Trophy of 23rd ONGC Lucky- Srivastava Football Tournament at Agartala Saturday.
They also received Rs 4 Lakh Champion’s prize money from the Chief Guest of the occasion OP Singh, Asset Manager of ONGC Tripura and Guest of Honour Santana Chakma, Minister of Social Welfare and Social Education.
ASEB also lifted both Man of the Match and Man of the Tournament trophies. Jwambla Brahma adjudged the Man of the Match and received Rs 10000 as the prize money. A Narzary, who scored total 11 goals, including the one that of the final, lifted the Man of the Tournament Trophy.
The Runner’s Up team College Veng Sports Club who gave a tough fight in the final, also received a prize money of Rs 2 lakh beside their trophy.
Vasantha Lucky, widow of slain ONGCian Justin Lucky also graced the occasion. It is to be mentioned that the tournament is held in the memory of two ONGCians Justin Lucky and SK Srivastava, who bravely fell to the bullets of militants in 1992.
The prestigious 23rd ONGC Lucky- Srivastava Football Tournament was kicked off by Member of Lok Sabha Pratima Bhowmick February 15 at Umakanta Stadium of Agartala
The tournament, affiliated to All India Football Federation, was participated by 10teams from Tripura, Assam, Manipur, Mizoram and West Bengal.
