PM urges seniors to stay home, Janta curfew Sunday

AGARTALA, March 19 2020: Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his live televised speech Thursday evening dispelled fear, but warned of any laxity in precautions to prevent spread of Coronavirus. He urged upon countrymen to take utmost caution in everyday life and behaviour to remain protected from the deadly disease.
He also gave a call to observe ‘Janta Curfew’ Sunday as to show unity and determination in this hour of need. The period of what he meant citizens’ curfew will be between 7 am to 9 pm. People will not venture out from their home during this timeframe and local authorities would also support the Janta Curfew.
He made it clear that the curfew will not be applicable for those connected with essential services be it public or private.
Prime Minister described how people above age of 60 can easily fall prey to the disease and requested senior citizens to remain at home till situation improves.
He also requested people not to crowd in hospitals unless they face an emergency.
