Night curfew in 5km belt of Sivasagar district on Nagaland

GUWAHATI, January 21, 2020: Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Sivasagar in Assam has reinforced night curfew from 6pm to 6am in the 5 km belt in Assam side of Sivasagar district bordering Nagaland state with effect from December 20 for a period of 60 days.

ADM Sivasagar in an order said night curfew has been imposed as a precautionary measure to prevent occurrence of anti-social elements, extremist and unlawful activities coming across the Assam and Nagaland border in the belt of Sivasagar district.

ADM Sivasagar said movement of any person or group of person or any vehicular traffic are prohibited during the period of night curfew.

However, Magistrate, security forces and civil officials deployed on duty are exempted from the purview of the prohibitory order.
