Don’t believe English key to development, Biplab

AGARTALA, September 17, 2019: After inaugurating Atal Behari Vajpayee Regional Cancer Centre at Agartala Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb stated that what Amit Shah said was not wrong, in fact the government has opened many English Medium Schools. "But I do not believe that English language is the only key to development", he said citing examples of developed non-English speaking countries like Japan, Russia, Germany, France.
He said, if there were no British era, then we would not have known English. But those who cannot speak English language should not be belittled as English is not the only factor for attaining success in life.
He asserted that cancer patients in Tripura will not have to be helpless for the treatment anymore. This Cancer Institute will provide them the best medication possible. The state government has received 120crores from the central government for this cause.
This Institute will not only treat the patient of Tripura but will be best service provider amongst all the northeastern states. He said the government is going to provide super-specialty facilities and best medical facility within coming two months. He requested all the nurses, doctors and staffs to provide best services and homely atmosphere to the patients.
At the end he said the government is working in every field like health, tourism, education, women empowerment, infrastructure etc to develop Tripura but for this to happen, he requested everyone's support and trust. He also said by 2023 election he will present his report card to the people of Tripura, if they approve only then he will come again for the welfare of people .
Apart from CM, Minister of Revenue and Fisheries Narendra Chandra Debbarma and MP Pratima Bhowmik were present for the program.
