AI cargo flight starts operation to supply essentials

AGARTALA, March 28, 2020: Air India has responded to requests of Tripura government to operate cargo flights to ensure supply of essential commodities during Covid-19 triggered nationwide lockdown.
A cargo flight Saturday landed at MBB Airport in Agartala with tonnes of supplies. The flight returned to Kolkata after unloading stuffs.
Officials said the state government has been constantly in touch with trade bodies to ensure availability of food items and essential commodities in shops and markets to continue supply unhindered in all localities.
The cargo flight will make similar sorties with loads of commodities in days to come, they added.
